Brian Tyree Henry Joins Cast for Pharrell Williams’s Upcoming Film

More Star Power Added to Pharrell’s Project

Brian Tyree Henry, known for his roles in ‘Atlanta’ and ‘Godzilla X Kong: A New Empire’, has been secured for a role in a forthcoming musical film which will be produced by Pharrell Williams and Michael Gondry. Alongside Henry, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Halle Bailey have also been engaged to star in the movie.

While details surrounding Henry’s role remain undisclosed, it has been reported that the backdrop of the film will be Virginia in 1977, with the narrative drawing some creative inspiration from Pharrell Williams’ own childhood experiences at Atlantis Apartments.

The film’s screenplay will be crafted by Martin Hynes, who is known for his contributions to ‘Toy Story 4’, and Steven Levenson, the mind behind ‘Tick, Tick…Boom!’. Under the production banner of ‘i am OTHER’, Williams and Mimi Valdés will share production duties, supported by Gil Netter who will serve for Gil Netter Productions.

Not to forget his reprised role as Officer Jeff Morales, the father of Miles Morales, in ‘Beyond The Spider-Verse’—the third installment of Sony’s animated Spider-Man franchise.
