Kanye West Delays New Album, Featuring Unexpected Guest
New Guest Feature on Delayed Album
Kanye West, popular for altering his album release dates, has disappointed his followers once again, holding off on the release of his new album, ‘Vultures 2.’ Originally scheduled for release on March 8, fans have been left in suspense for over a month. However, they may gain some solace from an unexpected development: the addition of a new artist to the album’s list of features.
Vultures 2 Scheduled for May Release, includes Takeoff
Reports from Variety have confirmed that ‘Vultures 2,’ a collaborative album between Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign, is now scheduled for a May 3 release. The album will surprisingly host a contribution from the late Migos’ band member, Takeoff, on one of its offerings called “Let Me Chill Out.” This song, already quite popular, also includes NBA YoungBoy and Rich the Kid. While enthusiasts of Takeoff may view this as positive news, many Kanye fans remain frustrated over sporadic and inconsistent album release dates.
During a recent interaction on Justin LaBoy’s podcast, “The Download,” Kanye shared the news about the new ‘Vultures 2’ release date, originally planned as a trilogy. The discussion, however, did not touch upon the status of the third volume.
Rolling Stone later verified the incorporation of “Let Me Chill Out” and Takeoff’s verse on the album, defining it as the “highlight track.” Takeoff, who tragically passed away in 2022, has only appeared posthumously in songs for Quavo’s 2023 record “Rocket Power.”
Legacy of Vultures 1 and Expectations for Vultures 2
Kanye West and Ty Dolla launched the first part of the series, ‘Vultures 1,’ in February 10, earning the top spot on the Billboard 200 charts. Not only did the album reach No.1, but its lead single, “Carnival”, stood against fresh singles from Beyoncé and continues to hold the No.20 spot.
Despite Kanye’s controversial statements and actions, his fan base remains loyal. As per the release of ‘Vultures 2,’ fans express mixed reactions about the inclusion of Takeoff’s posthumous verse. The anticipation continues, with all eyes on the upcoming month.
DPH Hot Take
Our DPH Hot Take is that Kanye’s continuous reshuffling of release dates may prove detrimental to his image in the long run. Even though he maintains a dedicated following, the continuous delays might cause frustration among fans. Nevertheless, the inclusion of a posthumous verse by Takeoff adds an intriguing twist to ‘Vultures 2,’ reflecting Kanye’s knack for the unexpected. In the shadow of such unpredictability, anticipation for the album’s release reaches new heights.
