Megan Thee Stallion Responds to Accusations by Former Videographer
In recent news, a cloud of controversy has settled around Megan Thee Stallion, a well-known Houston rapper. The uproar followed accusations levelled against her by her former videographer, Emilio Garcia. These claims, which Megan vehementely denies, include harassment, fostering a hostile work enviroment and labor code infringements.
Former Videographer Alleges Misconduct
As NBC News reported first, a comprehensive 42-page complaint was brought forth by Garcia, who formerly filmed Megan. The allegations include a particularly scandalous accusation that Garcia was supposedly coerced into witnessing a sexual act between Megan and another woman in a moving vehicle during a tour in Ibiza, Spain, in June 2022.
The suit brought forth by Garcia states, “Plaintiff was embarrassed, mortified and offended throughout the whole ordeal,” as he could not exit the moving vehicle in the remote and unfamiliar country.
Claims of Verbal Abuse and Labor Exploitation
According to the lawsuit, Megan also allegedly subject Garcia to a multitude of demeaning remarks and prohibited him from discussing what he’d witnessed. The claim also contains alleged derogatory comments by the rapper towards the plaintiff.
Garcia, who was initially engaged by Roc Nation, then moved on to be Megan’s personal cameraman. Starting in 2019, he dedicated more than 50 hours a week working full-time for the rapper. His employment conditions, stated in the lawsuit, supposedly did not include provisions for meal breaks or rest periods and precluded him from seeking outside employment.
Megan Thee Stallion: “We Will Deal with This in Court”
As the allegations surfaced, Megan Thee Stallion promptly responded through her lawyer, Alex Shapiro. According to comments posted on Page Six, Shapiro dismissed the accusations as a bid for money that lacked any sexual harassment claims and were brimming with explicit allegations seeking to embarrass her.
Megan assured her followers that she intends to challenge these accusations through legal proceedings. Currently, the saga is a trending topic on social media platforms, where users have been reacting and making light of the situation.
