Artist CeeLo Green Honoring Rico Wade’s Legacy
CeeLo Buys Rico Wade’s Home to Preserve Music Legacy
CeeLo Green, co-founder of the Goodie Mob, is making strides to eternally keep the late Rico Wade’s influence in the music scene. Green recently bought Wade’s house with the purpose to convert it into a museum.
The Dungeon Family “White House” and Plans for its Future
According to a detailed Instagram post shared by CeeLo Green on April 15, he has successfully purchased one of Wade’s homes. This residence was more than just a home, it played an important role as a recording studio for the Dungeon Family collective after their first studio became insufficient. This second studio went by the name ‘the White House’ within the collective.
Green made it clear that he bought the house because of its cultural and musical value. The property had unfortunately deteriorated due to neglect by previous tenants. However, Green and his sister, who also happens to be his real estate partner, saved the property, stating he was ready to pay more than its asking price of around $1 million. CeeLo plans to transform the house into a museum as an archive of their rich music history. He promises to take care of visitors in the same way their ‘Father’ took care of them.
Rapper Big Boi previously purchased the Dungeon Family’s original recording studio, now renamed ‘the Dungeon’, available for rent on Airbnb. On the other hand, Rico Wade’s cause of death has not yet been reported.

The initiative undertaken by CeeLo Green is not only a personal tribute to his friend and fellow musician Rico Wade but also a significant contribution to the culture of Atlanta’s music scene. By preserving and promoting this iconic piece of musical history, CeeLo is creating a tangible link between generations of artists, and granting the public renewed access to the creative birthplace of the Dungeon Family. As such, CeeLo’s move serves as a bold reminder of the inspirational power of keeping the past alive, even in the constantly evolving world of music. This preservation of musical heritage will undoubtedly resonate with both, the old and new fans, perpetuating the influence of the Dungeon Family. It further underscores the importance of music’s legacy and the compelling thrust it provides in shaping the future of hip-hop.
