Zaccaria Mouhib better known as Baby Gang is the first italian rapper to actually become viral and expose himself not only to an italian audience but also and most importantly to an European Fanbase becoming an european phenomenon.
Where he started
Grew up in Lecco a small city in northen italy, being half marocchan his rise to success was everything other then easy. Takes his name ”Baby Gang” because as he was growing up he used to commit many robberies in his city and the neighbouring towns; so much that initially police thought that a ”Baby Gang” ( a collection 5/6 kids) were actually committing the crimes.
Held in custody in many reformation houses for misbehaving kids throughout all italy he ended up making music and soon his talent will catch up to his persona, blending what today we know as Baby Gang.
His songs
In 2018, Baby Gang released his debut single, “Street”, hes so fit station in Calolziocorte. He would release two other singles, “Education” and “Cella 1”, in 2019, which were inspired by his experiences in jail.
In May 2021, Baby Gang released his debut EP, EP1; it would peak at number 15 on the FIMI Albums Chart. He would release his second EP, Delinquente, the same year; it peaked at number 7 on the same chart.
Baby Gang and the Police
On 20 August 2021, he received a D.A.SPO. (a banning order) from Milan police for 2 years alongside Rondodasosa following riots at a disco.
The D.A.SPO. prevented him to enter all public spaces in milan, including bars and discos, preventing him to perform.
In January 2023, he is arrested alongside two other rappers for four robberies committed in Milan and Sondrio; it was suspected that the three rappers were behind the robberies.
Why is he European?
Baby Gang is not only an italian rapper but an european recognized one. why?
Because he is versatile and other then working on his lyrics which for italians lysteners resonate very well he also is impecable in his sounds.
when he knows the audience that is going to listen to his song is not italian he goes for sounds that are universally recognizable
