In July 2016, the world was introduced to Taymor McIntyre, an aspiring young rapper known by his stage name Tay-K, who faced his first major legal issues when he was arrested on capital murder charges related to a home invasion in Mansfield, Texas. This event marked the beginning of a series of tragic events that would change his life forever.
The Mansfield Home Invasion
On July 26, 2016, Tay-K, along with Megan Holt and Ariana Bharrat, planned a robbery that went horribly wrong. Their target was 17-year-old Zachary Beloate, whom they intended to seduce and then rob. Armed with guns, they entered Beloate’s house, but the situation quickly escalated. A confrontation occurred, leading to the death of Ethan Walker, Beloate’s friend, and two other non-fatal gunshot wounds. Tay-K later confessed to his role in the botched robbery during a two-and-a-half-hour interrogation, admitting to searching for drugs in the house.
Initially held in a juvenile facility, Tay-K was later transferred to an adult jail on July 20, 2017. His legal team was hopeful that he would be cleared of all charges during a preliminary certification hearing to decide his status as a juvenile on August 30, 2017. However, the court decided to try him as an adult due to the severity of the crimes. The trial was later postponed due to a lack of evidence.
Several of Tay-K’s accomplices faced justice before him. One unnamed minor received a 20-year prison sentence for capital murder and aggravated robbery. Megan Holt and Latharian Merritt also pleaded guilty to their respective charges, with Holt agreeing to testify against her co-defendants in exchange for a 20-year sentence and Merritt receiving life imprisonment without parole. Sean Robinson and Jalen Bell also pleaded guilty and were sentenced to 40 years and 30 years in prison, respectively.
Tay-K’s Sentencing
As the trial finally began on July 15, 2019, Tay-K pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated robbery in connection with the Mansfield home invasion case. The jury later found him guilty of murder and another count of aggravated robbery. He faced the possibility of up to 99 years in prison.
During the trial, Tay-K’s own music was presented as evidence. His single “The Race” was written while he was on the run from the U.S. Marshals Service, which added another layer of complexity to the case.
On July 23, 2019, Tay-K received his sentence: 55 years for murder, 30 years for one count of aggravated robbery, and 26 years for the remaining two counts of aggravated robbery. These sentences would run concurrently, with the possibility of parole after serving 28 years. Additionally, he was fined $21,000 for the various charges.
The tragic tale of Tay-K highlights the consequences of a life derailed by crime and poor choices. A promising young talent with a passion for music found himself entangled in a web of violence, leading to the death of an innocent victim. Some of you might think Tay-k is only a talented individual that life brought on a bad path but, if you think that you have been terribly misled. Tay-K is a stupid kid, dangerous and Satanic. his music sounds satanic looks satanic and undeniably is satanic. The popularity that someone like him or him can gain in this society should make all of us think and reflect on the path that we are all heading to, and the catastrophic consequences that we are going to suffer if we dont stop immediately.
