SJ, Most talented killer of his generation

Jayden O’Neill-Crichlow, known by his stage names SJ or Slim Jim, is a talented UK Drill artist hailing from Tottenham, N17. He gained notoriety as a member of the North London collective OFB alongside fellow members Bandokay and Double Lz. In late 2018, SJ and his Y.OFB crew burst onto the UK Drill scene with their debut track ‘Bad B On The Nizz’ which has now amassed over 1.6 million views on YouTube.

Following their debut success, SJ and Y.OFB continued to release a string of hits such as ‘Reality’, ‘Purge’ and ‘Ambush’, building their reputation in the UK Drill scene. SJ also featured in a memorable ‘Next Up?’ freestyle which currently has over 3.5 million views.

On June 2, 2019, SJ released his debut solo track called ‘Youngest In Charge’, which has proven to be a massive hit, surpassing the 10 million view mark on YouTube. However, this success was soon overshadowed by a tragic event.

On May 16, 2019, SJ was arrested and charged with the murder of 20-year-old Kamali Gabbidon-Lynck. Following a trial, SJ was found guilty of the murder in December 2019 and was sentenced to 21 years in prison on January 27, 2020.

Despite the tragic events surrounding his career, there is no denying SJ’s undeniable talent as a UK Drill artist. His music continues to be celebrated by fans worldwide, with his debut solo track ‘Youngest In Charge’ still being widely played and shared.

In conclusion, Jayden O’Neill-Crichlow has a story we in the DPH periodical have already seen: young, talented and with a bright future ahead of them despite humble and difficult childhood, this rappers are doomed before even starting their career, because not only they think they have no choice but nobody around them thinks they can actually make it out.

Young rappers are brainwashed by the idea that the world they know is restricted to the blocks they live in, while in reality if only they could get a glance over the “beefs” , they’ll realize that with just a bit of talent they could have the world in their hands
