Notti Osama, a 14-year-old drill rapper from Yonkers, New York, was tragically killed after being stabbed in an altercation with a 15-year-old rival rapper at a Manhattan subway station in July 2022. Ethan Reyes, who went by the name Notti Osama, was the youngest of six children and had recently moved to Yonkers from Harlem. He was building his music career at a young age, but unfortunately, his life was cut short before he could establish himself further.
On the day of the stabbing, Notti Osama and two friends were walking in his old neighborhood when they encountered the 15-year-old rival rapper, Martinez. Notti Osama grabbed a broom handle and followed Martinez into the subway station with his friend. They cornered Martinez at the end of the platform, and after Notti Osama hit him with the stick, Martinez swung a knife, hitting Notti Osama in the abdomen.
During the altercation, Martinez was knocked onto the subway tracks and suffered puncture wounds when one of Notti Osama’s friends swung a sharp object at him. Notti Osama collapsed on the platform, and Martinez fled the scene. Later that day, Martinez’s mother brought him to the detectives.
Martinez was arrested and initially charged with second-degree murder, but his charge was later reduced to first-degree manslaughter after prosecutors discovered that he had acted in self-defense. He was also charged with criminal possession.
Notti Osama was an aspiring drill rapper who had recently released images of his new single, “Without You,” which he worked on with one of his brothers. He had only recently moved to Yonkers and was still in the early stages of his music career, which makes it difficult to know much about him or his background.
